MIJF w/ Iro Haarla/Jonathan Zwartz

Sweeping concert harp sets the stage for this world premiere from ARIA Award-winning bassist and composer Jonathan Zwartz. Exploring Nordic minimalism, Suite Suomi features distinguished and long-standing ECM recording artist Iro Haarla, whose sound has been described by All About Jazz as “fluid and deeply melodic, while retaining a certain melancholy that is reflective of her environment”.

Subtle and expansive, listeners are taken on a journey through remote landscapes of light and shade reflecting Haarla’s northern roots, echoed by Zwartz’s love of evoking environment and mood through music.
